"Ramblin' Man" was blocked from hitting #1 on the charts by Cher's song "Half Breed." I don't care for that song, but LOVE Cher- so how cool is it that later Greg Allman married Cher?
Answer: Beyond cool.
An aside:
One time I met Gregg Allman & his family in Georgia- to commemorate the occasion, my friend & I watched RUSH- the film he was in where he portrayed a drug kingpin- a chilling role, very convincing. Awesome!
