The Final Day of Detroit Institute of Art's much lauded Rembrandt exhibition is upon us. Having been a longtime fan of Rembrandt and his skills, I checked it out.
It featured an exhaustive collection of Rembrandt's work depicting his version of Jesus, whom he modeled after his neighbor in Amsterdam. He is the first Western artist to portray Jesus as Jewish, vulnerable, and humble, establishing this collection as ground-breaking for these reasons.
If I didn't know better, I would surmise that Rembrandt's self-portraits are modeled after Dylan- but that's impossible.
