Jack White's Third Man Records is kickin' it old school with the release of a live performance from his first gig- with the Bricks. It is from their 1999 show at the quintessential Detroit musical playground, The Garden Bowl!
How I love this place, and it looks like Mr. White does too. Executed in true methodical Jack White fashion, the show was caught on tape via reel-to-reel, very apropos, knowing what we know about Jack & his love of all things lo-fi. They rocked the show on Lanes Eleven 11 through 14, [recorded on 10] indicative of Jack's propensity for grand showmanship.
Another awesome element- the record will be pressed on... bowling pin white vinyl. This astute marketing detail is anything but surprising, let's be real- would you expect anything less.
The final piece of info of interest is the inclusion of two Dylan covers- Isis, [personal fave- Rolling Thunder Revue version, of course] and I Threw it All Away. [ditto- do you hear how he sings"awayyyyyyy-yeah" on that version] And I'm talkin' Dylan, not White.
